Shree Seti Devi Basic School | Dandakateri

Introduction

The Shree Seti Devi Basic School is in Dandakateri village, ward no.6 of Barhabise municipality, Sindhupalchok. It is a primary school founded in 1990 A.D. (2050 B.S.) and offers classes from pre-primary to grade 5. The school is located on the eastern side of Sindhupalchok district.

Namaste!

I am Radha Neupane, a head teacher at Shree Seti Devi Basic School since 2019. I believe a school is a place for students to make a strong foundation for their future careers. Our school has particular aims and objectives. The school provides almost all the facilities a modern school should provide with the support of Namaste Nepal.

Our school is very thankful to the supporting partner ‘Namaste Nepal Grotius from Delft, Netherlands. In the devastating earthquake of 2015, the school building was destroyed. At the time, a temporary learning centre (TLC) was made out of wood and tin roof to continue a student’s education.  TLC was established in the land of Shankhajit Tamang, one of the reputed people of Dandakateri village. During that time, Namaste Nepal helped to

find a supportive partner from the Netherlands (i.e. Grotius College) to rebuild the school that was destroyed by an earthquake. After four years of long waiting, an earthquake-proof school building with six rooms and a toilet with three rooms has been completed with the substantial support of Namaste Nepal and Namaste Nepal Delft. Many other facilities like safe drinking water, computers, ICT materials, science lab materials, classroom management, classroom wall painting, and other academic materials were supported to make available at school. Besides this, Namaste Nepal has also provided three teachers to the school. Still, the teachers and students from Grotius College have been supporting to provide quality education in Shree Seti Devi Basic School. Namaste Nepal, the team from Delft, has an excellent role in making the school unique in the area.

Moreover, we will do our best to provide quality education to our students. Hence, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Namaste Nepal and Namaste Nepal Delft, who have contributed significantly to providing quality education in our school.
