Namaste!

This is the Kul Devi Shrestha from Gati village; working in Mandra Kindergarten as a teacher. Our kindergarten was set up in Mandra village with the great support of Namaste Nepal to provide basic education for children aged 3 to 5 for developing and learning before school starts. The children learn about basic things through the help of educational material in kindergarten accordingly to their age and ability. Moreover, children learn to behave in moral activities like greetings, expressing their needs, clean and healthy habits in kindergarten. Children love going to kindergarten as they learn, play, have lunch, and rest at day in kindergarten.

The new kindergarten building in Mandra build with the financial support from Namaste Nepal was completed and about to shift children in their new building from the new academic session in 2015. Unfortunately, due to the devastating earthquake, the building was severely hit and damaged, so the building couldn’t be used, as the building was inspected by an engineer and put a red sticker on buildings mentioning damaged building is not the right place for children. In this regard, we had to move to an open and safe location and set up a temporary learning center in the village to encourage and motivate us to continue the operation of a kindergarten class. Due to the high shortage of skilled workers and even general workers in the village as they were fully occupied with the construction of their own private house the rebuilding of the kindergarten building was delayed.

However, in 2019, the new building with two rooms and two toilets has been completed with the support of Bato Nepal, Clausthal–Zellerfeld, Germany, and Namaste Nepal. Moreover, Namaste Nepal has been supporting the daily required operating expenses of kindergarten including teacher salary, stationery, playing materials, lunch, and sanitary materials.

Last but not least, I would like to thank you all for helping us for supporting improving education in Mandra village. The support from Namaste Nepal has been invaluable to us. Once again, thank you Bato Nepal- Clausthal-Zellerfeld teams, Namaste Nepal Freiberg team, Namaste Nepal Kathmandu and all well-wishers for immense support. I sincerely appreciate your generosity.

Dhanyabad!

Kul Devi Shrestha
