Recue and First Aid Training
The Gati youth club has been formed in the year 2020 where through this club, youths of Gati village have been doing several social activities and helping the people who are suffering at the time of natural disaster. Gati youth club is one of the active groups at such a period, but they lack skill for rescuing the victim. Therefore, Namaste Nepal planned to conduct rescue and first aid training to the Gati youth club’s member, youth representative from neighboring village of Gati. In March 2022, Namaste Nepal organized a disaster management and rescue training which was conducted by well experienced international instructors from the Outdoor Initiative, rescue3SourthAsia team. This project aimed to train the Gati youth members to be skilled as a rescue team. The training was 10 days residential where altogether 10 youth have actively participated in the training. There were 7 participants from Gati youth club, 2 from Dandakateri and 1 from Mandra village. Rescue and medical training could be a medium to empower the Gati youth. Rescue training program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Sindhupalchok district has been prone to natural disasters. Now participants are qualified for rescue and first aid during any kind of unexpected disaster that may occur in the area.
