About Namaste Nepal

Namaste Nepal is an NGO registered at the District Administration office in Kathmandu under the Nepal government’s law. Namaste Nepal has been working with a school partnership project in Gati VDC of Sindhupalchok, Dansing, and Chidhyar village of Syangja District for quality education and sustainable development under the generous support and partnership with different partner schools in Germany and Holland.

The inception of Namaste Nepal

The project began with the support of Freiberg Namaste Nepal S-GmbH to Shree Kali Devi Secondary School and Gati Kindergarten in 2005 which was the very first step towards the development process of Gati village. Likewise, the project introduced to the other public schools of nearby villages such as Dandakateri, Mandra, and Sotang. Similarly, the school partnership project extended to Dansing village and Chidhyar village of Syangja District with the support of AG Nepal (Cotta) Germany. A number of associate supporters and well-wishers are contributing to the advancement of our project.

What do we do?

In most cases, Namaste Nepal has been supporting community development projects in the ratio of 70:30 principle. This provision in the development work shows that the community cares about school, often involves itself in school, and can encourage parents to send their children to school. The students of those villages are compelled to come to Shree Kali Devi secondary school at Gati for their secondary education, it is the only secondary school in the village. This trend has been helping to improve the education standard of the children of the Gati Village Development Committee (VDC). Furthermore, having big and comfortable school buildings is important in itself, it also sends the message that the standard of education improved which makes the local community more enthusiastic to collaborate with the school. Along with the education program, Namaste Nepal has been supporting several social activities in Gati village that have created a better relationship between society & school and a pleasant environment for providing quality education to the kids. Village Health service, income generation, skill development, capacity building, and motivation program are the additional factors that openly effect the improvement of education and economic development in the village.

Since the massive destruction of the earthquake in 2015, we extended our project sites from existing partner schools and villages to the entire former Gati VDC i.e. Barhabise municipality ward number 5 and 6 to support the education sector. Therefore, we are coordinating with the concerned school management committee and local stakeholders of the villages and assisting in the need-based programs for educational improvement and other activities.
