Introduction
This cooperative, initiated by Namaste Nepal in 2013, aims to generate income through coffee cultivation and supply in the market. Namaste Nepal has continuously supported the cooperative since its establishment, intending to engage villagers in income-generation activities through coffee plantations. The sustainability of the education project is a primary focus, with a portion of the income set aside for this purpose. The cooperative is currently managed by Mr. Dev Gubaju, known as Gati’s coffee man. NNK built a Gati Coffee Cooperative in 2015, which serves as a meeting place for farmers to discuss coffee projects and as a storage facility for drying and collecting coffee. On February 7, 2017, Namaste Nepal constructed an iron truss for the coffee nursery. The Gati coffee cooperative operates through institutional and collaborative efforts among coffee farmers to achieve its goals.
