Introduction

Gati Kindergarten is located in Gati Village, within Barhabise Municipality ward 6 of Sindhupalchok District. This kindergarten was founded in 2000 and offers classes for children not yet old enough to enrol in primary school. The school provides a vibrant and colourful environment that promotes joyful learning and development for the children. Ms. Sita Shrestha is the headmaster, and there are three teachers and one caretaker overseeing the education and care of 25 students at Gati Kindergarten.

Namaste!

I am Sita Shrestha from Gati, working as a head teacher of Gati Kindergarten. I believe every child deserves the best education; that’s why our mission is to provide the best early childhood education. This kindergarten’s learning environment, daycare, lunch facilities, and education system are far better than other kindergartens in the area. Namaste Nepal has been continuously supporting the daily required operating expenses of kindergarten, including teacher salary, stationery, playing materials, lunch, and sanitary materials.

Initially, we used a community centre in the village with minimal space to run our Kindergarten, so we were looking for a better place with sufficient space for the kindergarten operation. Namaste Nepal has supported in construction of a new kindergarten building, which is a much more substantial building. It was the only building not destroyed in the village by a strong earthquake in 2015. Several aftershocks led to tiny cracks on the side of the wall, but they were renovated and used for running regular kindergarten activities.

Today, the children of our kindergarten enjoy their classroom learning and the facilities of our kindergarten. We have received good responses from the villagers and parents of their child’s education in our kindergarten. All of this is due to the extensive support and valuable advice of the Namaste Nepal Freiberg team, Steffen, Dagmar, Doreen, and Namaste Nepal Kathmandu.
