Namaste!

This is Prem Kumar Raut, headmaster of Shree Bal Hit Basic School. I joined the school in 2016, a year after the earthquake. After the massive earthquake, there were several problems that we had to deal with at school due to the lack of safe school buildings, which were severely damaged by the earthquake. Fortunately, due to kind support from Namaste Nepal, we could have 4 room child-friendly and beautiful building and a 3-room toilet block with a water and sanitation facility.

After completing the building, we could shift students to earthquake-proof buildings and a safe zone from wind, rain, and storm. Now, with an excellent school building and better education facility, students enjoy their lessons in a classroom. To make quality education possible in Sotang village, all the credit goes to Namaste Nepal S-AG Buchen and Namaste Nepal Kathmandu’s selfless efforts. Compared to other project schools of Namaste Nepal, our school building cost has been costly because of its geographical location, where there isn’t any direct road access for transporting materials for construction purposes.

It is a great privilege for me to share my happiness and thank all the associates and development partners who have supported this school for a long time to improve education in Sotang. On behalf of the school management team, I sincerely thank all the supporters, particularly the Namaste Nepal team.

Thank you so much, Dhanyabad!
