Message from Head Teacher
Namaste!
This is Sabitri Gurung from Shree Singarche Basic School. I have been serving as head teacher of Shree Singarche Basic School since 2020. But before the year 2020, I was the regular teaching staff of the school. In the year 2015, a massive earthquake destroyed the old school building. The area of the school was dangerous. Besides, the former chairperson of the school was severely injured during the earthquake and hospitalized for around six months.
According to his suggestion, a temporary learning centre (TLC) was built on his maize field to start the teaching and learning process from the date appointed by the government. During these challenging times, Mr. Mohan Lal Shrestha, the chairperson and Project Coordinator, Mr. Nima Tshering Lama of Namaste Nepal, came to our school. He provided the students with all necessary educational materials, bags, a whiteboard, and so on to support the continuation of an academic session.
Now we are happy to have an earthquake-resistant school building with eight rooms and toilets blocks with four rooms completed in the year 2075 B.S (2017 A.D) with the constant help from Namaste Nepal Freiberg and Namaste Nepal Kathmandu in our difficult times. It has encouraged the students for better learning. The school is successful in bringing children who are of school-going age in its area to the school through its different activities and programs. Likewise, to provide quality education to a student in a modern way, Namaste Nepal has provided all necessary instruments like a projector, e-library, computer, and printer to teach the students utilizing ICT materials. The organisation has also provided teachers’ salaries, educational materials, playing materials, and sanitary materials to the ECD class.
Therefore, we would like to convey our gratefulness and heartfelt thank you to the entire team of Namaste Nepal, Kathmandu, Namaste Nepal Freiberg, and never the least, we would like to express gratitude to the chairperson of the construction committee Shyam Bahadur Basnet, and school chairperson Netra Bahadur Basnet and all well-wisher.
